Op
A most extraordinary collection of Mauritius used in Rodrigues (a remote island about 365 miles north of Mauritius), containing several hundred used items -
either stamps or covers - all with Rodrigues cancellations, beginning with the very scarce barred "B65" numeral cancellation on a couple dozen 19th century stamps, followed by the small circular town postmark of the early 20th century, which was then
later replaced by larger types both in black and violet, excellent variety of frankings and usages, early valuable covers are noted including six from the 1901-11 period which are extremely challenging to find, numerous scarce commercial covers from
the 1920's to the 1940's as well, even the more "modern" usages from the 1940's on are not easy to find, mostly well annotated and well on its way to becoming a serious exhibit collection, fine-very fine.(imagea)(imageb)(imagec)(Image)
