the typical common check usage, all are unusual and/or exceptionally eye-appealing usages, on such documents as a pawn receipt and lottery ticket, six are lovely oversized bonds or mortgages with beautiful designs and central vignettes, adding
further to the desirability of this group is the presence of many better design types included, such as the 5c Red, 5c Brown and 10c Pale red, rounding out the collection are five various proof impressions in Orange and three scarcer cut squares,
including the elusive 50c Red with restrictive clause in tablet at base, condition overall is well above average for a collection of this type, with most being fine-very fine or better; an exceptional collection deserving of examination.

plus a few plate blocks including two different of #85, there are 18 covers franked with the Lincoln stamp including a wide variety of usages such as unusual destinations (Sweden), first flights (including Lindbergh), seapost c.d.s., etc., mint

each with violet "Ultramar" handstamped overprints applied by the Portuguese government upon receipt from the U.P.U., and affixed neatly to a small portion of the original log-in book page headed "America (dez selos)", the Special Delivery stamp with
a couple of facial scuffs, overall fine-very fine; at most 35 sets were issued of which very few have survived, the collector is aware of only one other holding (from the specimens sent to Angola) which comprised the same nine stamps suggesting
strongly that these constitute a complete set of specimens as sent to the U.P.U.; a very rare and unusual group of specimens, perfect for exhibition.(Image)
