Machine-affixed 19th Century Stamps (The World's First Coiled Stamps) specialized exhibit collection, this collection consists of covers bearing perforated stamps
that were separated and affixed by machines, most notably George K. Snow's invention of 1858, the consignor bought Ken Lawrence's one-frame exhibit intact, but has since added another twenty or so covers, mainly bought at William Weiss auctions for
hundreds of dollars each, most are 1851 or 1861-68 Issues, many are 3c stamps used to pay domestic postage, but values from 1c to 10c are found, some later issues are also present, includes the earliest recorded cover with a machine-affixed stamp
(October 13, 1857) and other key or unique covers, mixed condition as expected, overall fine; this is probably the most comprehensive collection of this esoteric field ever formed and represents an outstanding opportunity to obtain an intact
