S.G. #137, 1882 £5 Orange on white paper, an absolutely gorgeous mint example, possessing an overall brilliance and freshness few other examples display, with truly radiant and incredibly intense color on brilliantly white paper, magnificently well centered as well, with large margins all around, unusually clean full o.g. that has been lightly hinged, there are a couple of truly trivial and negligible gum bends that are found on virtually every known example, and this copy is far more free of these bends than usual, extremely fine; signed Peter Holcombe and accompanied by his 1995 certificate (Scott #93; $5,500.00).
