Japanese occupation overprints in black on 1942 first issue overprints in
violet, a very rare group of five values which are from the first 1942
Japanese occupation series which have violet overprints and were then
additionally overprinted in 1944 in black, the 2c, 4c, 10c 12c and 15c
values, each quite well centered and margined, o.g., most l.h., 12c with
toned gum and thin spot, rest very fine; Stanley Gibbons lists and prices
four of the five values and we have quoted the catalog value only for these
values, the 4c value is unlisted and has not been counted, although it is
indeed just as rare as the other values which are priced at £425 each;
1988 Brandon certificates (two encompassing all five stamps) (Scott
