well centered single used on an immaculate cover to New South Wales,
stamp with perfectly struck two line "Rabaul/Oct 13 1914" cancel in violet,
manuscript notation "On Active Service" at top left and initialed "Staff
Captain/Rabaul 13/10/14" at bottom left, typewritten certification on
reverse by the Treasurer of the Military Government of New Guinea (also
signed by the Treasurer), very fine and quite choice; covers of New Britain
are quite scarce, particularly when bearing more valuable higher values,
with this stamp alone cataloging $500.00, however the Stanley Gibbons
catalog gives a three times premium for these issues on cover; 1982 BPA
