#R43a, 25c Bond, imperforate, a magnificent
quality used bottom sheet-margin horizontal pair, extravagantly large
margins all around, plus its color is exceptionally deep and luxuriant,
prooflike impression on crisp paper, unobtrusive manuscript cancels,
extremely fine gem; the Curtis census records no blocks of four (or larger
known), so a pair is the largest available multiple and this is certainly
the finest available; 1999 PF certificate.
#R44a, 25c Certificate, imperforate, highly
select vertical pair, mostly very large margins (ample at bottom), intense
color and impression, beautifully cancelled with two perfect strikes of
"Mutl. Benefit Life Ins. Co./Mar 5 1863" oval handstamps, extremely fine;
ex-Joyce and Zoellner.
#R45a, 25c Entry of Goods, imperforate,
especially handsome and choice used block of four, ample to mostly very
large margins all around, rich color, neat magenta 1862 manuscript cancel,
extremely fine; the Curtis census records ten blocks of four and one

#R46a, 25c Insurance, imperforate, horizontal
strip of four, large to very large margins all around, deep rich color,
1863 manuscript cancel, extremely fine; a choice multiple; the Curtis
census records only two horizontal strips of four; cataloged as two pairs;

#R50a, 25c Warehouse Receipt, imperforate, superb
used example, possessing extravagantly large margins all around, showing a
portion of the adjoining stamp at bottom, strong bright color on clean
paper, central "G.W./Ins Co./Mar 2" handstamp cancel, an extremely fine
gem.
#R51a, 30c Foreign Exchange, imperforate, an
impressive block of four of this difficult imperforate value, being
completely free of the myriad of faults that frequently plague these first
issue multiples, with mostly large margins to clear at top left, especially
strong fresh color on crisp clean paper, small and neat 1864 manuscript
cancels, very fine; the only recorded block of four according to the
Curtis census; ex-Joyce.

eye-arresting used single that is not only in exceptional condition, but
also features a gorgeous central strike of a black fancy shield
handstamp cancel, four large to very large margins, unusually strong color
and impression on bright paper, extremely fine; ex-Handy.
#R53a, 40c Inland Exchange, imperforate, gem used
example of this scarce imperforate, featuring large to huge margins all
around, particularly rich color and a clean impression, neat manuscript
cancel, extremely fine; premium quality examples of this stamp are
challenging to find; 1985 PF certificate.
#R54a, 50c Conveyance, imperforate, an incredibly
handsome and choice top sheet-margin horizontal pair, extravagantly large
margins all around, truly prooflike color and impression on fresh paper,
light and unobtrusive manuscript cancels, extremely fine; a gem pair that
possesses tremendous eye appeal; ex-Joyce and Zoellner.

sheet-margin single in the finest attainable quality, with enormously large
margins all around, showing a substantial portion of the adjoining stamp at
right, exceptional prooflike color and impression, wonderfully cancelled
with a light strike of a large red oval handstamp, an extremely fine and

top sheet-margin example, possessing margins of enormous size all around,
