#114, 3c Ultramarine, a fabulous quality mint
example in a true "post office" fresh state, incredibly well centered
within extravagantly large margins, lovely rich color and a razor-sharp
impression on immaculate paper, pristine o.g. without a single gum bend or
skip, never hinged, extremely fine; a superb gem for the
perfectionist; 2001 PF certificate for a vertical pair, this being the top
stamp.
#114, 3c Ultramarine, incredibly well centered
within especially large margins, prooflike color and impression on
immaculate paper, pristine o.g., barest trace of hinging, an extremely fine
gem; a stamp for the perfectionist; 2001 PF certificate.
#115, 6c Ultramarine, an exceptionally well
centered mint example of a stamp that is terribly difficult to find in
premium condition, featuring large and wonderfully well balanced margins
all around, plus this stamp's color is uncommonly bright and rich,
redistributed o.g., extremely fine and handsome; 1996 PF certificate.
#116, 10c Yellow, a magnificent quality mint
example of one of the most challenging values from the 1869 Pictorial
series to find in premium condition, fabulously fresh and bright, with
gorgeous vibrant color not affected by oxidization as so often seen, strong
detailed impression, marvelously well centered within large margins,
especially clean full o.g. that has been only lightly hinged, extremely
fine; one of the very few existing gem examples still retaining its
original gum; 2001 PF certificate.
#116, 10c Yellow, an extraordinarily handsome
unused example, possessing outstanding centering within
uncharacteristically large margins, in addition its color is remarkably
intense and vibrant on bright paper, extremely fine; rarely encountered

mint example, possessing an overall freshness few others possess, with deep
luxuriant color and a strong impression on crisp paper, quite well
centered, full o.g. that is uncharacteristically clean, with just the

margins, tied by geometric cork cancel on 1870 yellow cover to Germany, red

choice mint example, wonderfully well centered within large margins,
sumptuously rich color and a deeply etched impression on bright paper, full
clean o.g. that is particularly fresh and clean, lightly hinged, extremely
fine; a rare stamp to find in such outstanding condition; 2001 PF and PSE
certificates.
#117, 12c Green, striking used example with
enormously large margins, well centered within these impressive borders,
bold rimless grid pmk., extremely fine; 1998 PF certificate.
#118, 15c Brown and blue, Ty. I, a gem unused
example of this truly rare stamp, possessing near perfect centering within
large margins, beautifully rich colors and prooflike impressions on bright
paper, extremely fine; a stamp that is on every serious collector's want
list; 1978 PF certificate.
#118, 15c Brown and blue, Ty. I, a fabulous
quality used example, being in a quality that is virtually unheard of on
this scarce and difficult value, as it possesses enormously large margins
all around and is perfectly centered within them, strong fresh colors on
bright paper, lovely central strike of a rosette postmark further
contributes to this stamp's marvelous overall eye appeal, an extremely fine
gem; one of the finest used #118's we have ever offered; 2001 PF
certificate.
#118, 15c Brown and blue, Ty. I, a gem used
example of a stamp that is very challenging to find in such premium
condition, featuring flawless centering amid uncharacteristically large
margins, much stronger colors than typically encountered on the Ty. I
stamps, bright paper, extremely fine; 1991 PF certificate.
#118, 15c Brown and blue, Ty. I, extraordinarily
well centered amid extravagantly wide margins all around, lightly
cancelled, extremely fine; an impressively large example of this scarce
stamp; 1984 PF certificate.
#119, 15c Brown and blue, Ty. II, used,
exceptionally well centered and margined, strong colors on fresh paper,
extremely fine; 1987 PF certificate.

well centered, particularly strong colors, light central strike of a circle

#120, 24c Green and violet, a phenomenal quality
example of this extremely rare mint stamp, possessing outstanding physical
characteristics that are almost never seen on this value, including being
incredibly well centered within lavishly large margins, its colors are
exceptionally strong and rich, while its impressions are highly detailed
and well "centered" to one another on bright fresh paper, full clean o.g.
that has only been lightly hinged, extremely fine; an impossibly difficult
stamp to obtain sound, with original gum and without faults, in fact this
is one of the finest mint singles to be offered at auction in years;
the only somewhat comparable example to appear at auction in recent memory
was a choice copy (not as well centered and margined) in our sale of Larry
Lyons collection in January 2000, and it realized 17,600.00 (including
premium) after considerable bidder competition; 1999 PSE and 2000 PF
certificates.
#120, 24c Green and violet, an absolutely
beautiful used example in a quality that would be almost impossible to
improve upon, featuring mathematically precise centering amid extravagantly
large margins, gorgeous rich colors and strong impressions on immaculately
white paper, superbly postmarked with a socked-on-the-nose circle of wedges
cancel, an extremely fine and eye-arresting gem for the finest used
collection; 2001 PF certificate.
#120, 24c Green and violet, used, nicely centered
within large margins, attractive color, cork cancel, very fine; 1998 PSE
certificate.
#121, 30c Blue and carmine, a superlative example
of this terribly difficult and truly rare stamp, fabulously fresh and
bright, possessing absolutely gorgeous colors in warm rich shades, plus its
impressions are truly prooflike on immaculate paper, virtually perfectly
centered within large margins, even its perforations are unusually intact,
full clean o.g., lightly hinged, extremely fine; an enormous condition
rarity in this gem quality; very few of the great mint collections of the
past several years (Golin, Lyons, Floyd, etc.) had a mint example that even
