O
R1a/RD335
#R1a/RD335, The extraordinarily high quality balance of the Mel E. Yost
collection, an exceptional assemblage of well over 300 different
stamps, largely concentrating on the First, Second and Third Issues, with a
scattering of Documentary and Stock Transfer issues, nearly all selected
for their uncommonly choice quality, in the case of the First Issue
imperforates, four margin examples predominate, and on the part perforated
issues, unquestioned large margined examples were sought out, centering on
the perforated issues is well above average as well (especially challenging
on the Second and Third Issues), with very few exceptions there are no cut
cancels and we even note several with handstamped cancels; while no
rarities are present, this collection contains a wealth of $5.00 to $150.00
catalog value stamps that were acquired by Mr. Yost on an individual basis,
often paying well over catalog value for many, therefore this lot
represents an exceptional basis upon which to expand for the fastidious
collector; just a few stamps noted with generally small flaws, with the
vast majority being very fine to extremely fine.

large and perfectly balanced margins all around, strong prooflike color and
