(large-margined gem; catalog $60.00), #RO172c (.75), #RS240b (exceptional
centering and margins; $85.00) and #RS277c (four large margins; $170.00),
very fine-extremely fine.

#RW1, 1934 $1.00 Blue, a magnificent quality mint
example, being in the finest condition possible, possessing incredibly
large and perfectly balanced margins all around, strong prooflike color and
impression on immaculate paper, clean o.g. devoid of the usual natural gum
bends, n.h., extremely fine; a highly desired stamp in this gem condition;
2000 PSE certificate.
#RW1, 1934 $1.00 Blue, wonderfully well centered
within lavishly large margins, rich luxuriant color on fresh paper, o.g.,
n.h., extremely fine; a handsome example of the first duck stamp; 2000 PF
certificate.
#RW2, 1935 $1.00 Rose lake, an impressive
jumbo-margined mint example, featuring extravagantly large and wonderfully
well balanced margins all around, deep luxuriant color, clean o.g., n.h.,
extremely fine; seldom encountered in this gem quality; 1997 PF
certificate.
#RW3, 1936 $1.00 Brown black, a jumbo mint single
that is wonderfully well centered within huge oversized margins, fresh
color, o.g., n.h., extremely fine; rarely seen this large; 2000 PF
certificate.
#RW5, 1938 $1.00 Light violet, exceptionally well
centered for this most difficult Duck stamp, deep rich color, o.g., n.h.,
completely free of the usual gum skips and bends, extremely fine; 2001 PF
certificate.
#RW9, 1942 $1.00 Violet brown, precisely centered
within uncommonly large margins, lovely fresh color, o.g., n.h., extremely
fine; 2001 PF certificate.
#2, 5c Blue, unusually choice mint example, well
centered, fresh, full o.g. (not tropicalized as usual), l.h., very fine;
2000 PF certificate (CZSG #2).
#22a, 1c Green and black, horizontal pair,
imperforate between, soft paper, 7.2mm spacing, a gem example of this
rare error, extraordinarily well centered amid very large margins, o.g.,
lightly hinged, extremely fine; one of the finest known among the 50
pairs printed; 2000 PF certificate (CZSG #22a).
#25a, 8c Purple and black, horizontal left
sheet-margin pair, imperforate between and at left margin, soft paper,
6.75mm spacing, while centered a bit to top as always, this is actually
far better centered than any other example of this error we have seen, rich
colors, o.g., l.h., fine; only 34 examples of this error are believed to
exist; 2000 PF certificate (CZSG #25a).
#39c, 2c Vermilion and black, booklet pane of six,
imperforate margins, a gem example of this very scarce booklet pane,
marvelously well centered and margined throughout, brilliantly fresh and
intact, o.g., very lightly hinged, extremely fine; 2001 PF certificate
(CZSG #39c).
#47, 2c Orange vermilion and black, "Mount Hope"
overprint, an extraordinarily choice mint example of this terribly
difficult stamp, possessing outstanding physical qualities few other copies
can boast, magnificently centered amid very large margins, brilliantly
fresh and crisp, intense colors, full clean o.g. which has been only
lightly hinged, an extremely fine gem; the rarest normal mint stamp of
Canal Zone, with fewer than 100 examples estimated to have survived, this
one certainly being one of the finest; 1999 PF certificate (CZSG
#14).
J20 var. 10c Carmine rose postage due, second
printing, worn thick letters variety, choice mint example of this
scarcer and distinctive printing, well centered, rich luxuriant color,
o.g., very lightly hinged, choice very fine; 2000 PF certificate (CZSG
#J20.B).
#O8, 50c Rose lilac, Ty. 1A ovpt., a very rare
block of four, used as always, with neat Balboa Heights machine pmk., rich
color, fine; only 1,000 of these stamps were printed, with this being only
the second used block we have ever seen; 2001 PF certificate (CZSG #O8).
#1-8, 10-12, E1, 1c-$1.00 "Guam" ovpts., most
with strong colors, o.g. except 4c unused and 15c part o.g., a few faults
(mostly small), fine appearance.
#6, 13c Dark red, four full to very large
margins, deep intense color and a vivid impression, o.g., small inclusion
