collection of about 175 covers, being nearly every issue Buchanan
serviced, and within each issue there are different towns (particular
strength in the Sullivan Expedition and Ohio River issues), fine-very fine;
in addition to the specialized covers, there is some collateral material
such as Bradie's Post Office order for 2c White Plains stamps and most
interesting of all are ten original metal dies Bradie used for his
cachets, certainly a unique collection that could be developed for
exhibition.

Modern cacheted first day cover collection of over 2,500 different
covers, 1940-1998, most are neatly housed in cover albums, includes a
comprehensive showing of the Artcraft cachet, with a nearly complete
run from the late 1940's to 1998, includes coil pairs, booklet panes (e.g.
$9.35 Express Mail), full modern panes, some of the issues in plate blocks
(including the $5.00 Hamilton), some other cachet makers present, most
unaddressed, includes some United Nations and a few foreign, overall a very
fine lot.
#27, 1888 "2d." surcharge in green on 2p Lilac,
used, exceedingly well centered for this, lightly cancelled, minor thin
spots, very fine appearance; this was originally a trial color overprint,
one sheet being accidentally put into use at Vryburg, only a very small
