(position 9), unused, without gum as always, four full even margins, fresh,
very fine; ex-Burrus (original Burrus lot card also accompanies).
#24, 2c Black on laid paper, complete plate
reconstruction of all ten types, unused, without gum as always, all with
four large to huge margins, possibly a few minor flaws, very fine-extremely
fine; ex-Burrus.
#30P1, 33P1, 34P1, 1c Purple, 6c Green, 18c Dull
rose, large die proofs on India, each on card measuring approximately
61x73mm, each with ms. notations at bottom and embossed seal of Hawaiian
Bank Note Co., N.Y., small faults including some light toning, fine-very
fine appearance.
#39a, 5c Ultramarine, Die I, vertical pair,
imperforate horizontally, far better centering than this error normally
comes, fresh color, full o.g., h.r., very fine; a highly desirable example
of this important error rarity of Hawaii.
#57g, 2c Dull Violet, Provisional Govt. issue,
inverted overprint, well centered, full o.g. which is just slightly
disturbed, a couple faintly toned perf. tips, otherwise a very fine example
of this rarely seen error.
#59g, 5c Ultramarine Provisional Govt. issue,
inverted overprint, very well centered, strong fresh color, o.g., h.r.,
faint crease and a tiny hinge thin, very fine appearance; a seldom offered
error.
#59g, 5c Ultramarine Provisional Govt. issue,
inverted overprint, left sheet-margin block of four, the left stamps
are quite well centered, full o.g., top stamps with h.r., bottom right
stamp n.h., bottom left stamp with small gum crease and tiny stain at
bottom, bottom right stamp with an irregularly separated perf., faint
overall toning, fine-very fine appearance; an immensely rare error
multiple, which is also the largest known multiple.
#69, 12c Red lilac Provisional Govt. issue, right
margin block of six (3x2) with full imprint in the selvage, deep
intense color, full o.g., three stamps with h.r., overall a very fine and
handsome showpiece multiple.
#72f, 50c Red Provisional Govt. issue, double
overprint, one weak, the only way the double overprint exists on this
value, with partial imprint in the right margin, strong color, large
part o.g., fine and quite scarce.
#O1-6, 2c-25c Officials cplt., an especially
fresh set of mint blocks of four, all with strong rich colors, full clean
o.g., never hinged, 1c with a couple of faint toned specks on gum,
otherwise very fine and choice.
#U8, 5c Blue with blue inside, lovely fresh mint
entire, sharp detailed imprint, extremely fine and scarce in this premium
condition.
#R6, $50.00 Slate blue and carmine revenue,
rouletted, impressive used horizontal strip of five, cancelled by a
bright magenta oval Paid handstamp of Castle & Cooke, bright and fresh,
very fine; an unusually large multiple and quite a handsome showpiece.
#R7a, 20c on 25c Green revenue, inverted
surcharge, well centered, deep rich color, o.g., h.r., very fine and
scarce.
