top margin plate number single, strong colors, o.g., l.h., usual light gum
bends and skips, fine-very fine.

matched set of top margin plate number blocks of six, well centered with
the 65c and $2.60 values being exceptionally so, fresh colors, o.g., 65c
and $1.30 are never hinged, the $2.60 is relatively lightly hinged, typical
flat plate gum bends and wrinkles plus the usual gum skips are present,
very fine-extremely fine and attractive.
#C13-15, 65c-$2.60 Graf Zeppelins cplt., used,
strong colors, $2.60 with light corner crease at top right, otherwise a
fine-very fine set.

#C15, $2.60 Graf Zeppelin, a magnificent left
sheet-margin single, possessing impeccable centering within lavishly large
margins, plus its color is intensely rich and its impression deeply etched,
immaculate o.g., never hinged, extremely fine; a wonderfully handsome
example of this popular high value; 2005 PF certificate.
#C15, $2.60 Graf Zeppelin, select mint single,
being precisely centered within large margins, deep rich color, clean o.g.,
n.h., extremely fine; 1999 PSE certificate for a block of four and a 2005
PSE certificate as a single (XF 90).
#C13-14, 65c and $1.30 Graf Zeppelins, well
centered vertical pair of the 65c and handsome single of the $1.30, both
tied to flown FDC cover by April 19, 1930 Washington, D.C. duplex cancel,
flown on the Friedrichshafen to Lakehurst leg of the flight with both
purple and red flight cachets, backstamped, cover with edge creasing at
extreme left, not affecting stamps, otherwise very fine; a scarce first day
cover, especially of the the 65c which are not often found on flown
covers.
#C13, 65c Graf Zeppelin, beautifully centered
block of four tied to flown cover by Varick Station, N.Y. May 1, 1930
duplex cancels, purple cachet also ties plus red German cachet at left,
flown on the Friedrichshafen to Lakehurst portion of the flight,
backstamped, choice very fine; cataloged as a used block.
#C14, $1.30 Graf Zeppelin, attractive well
centered vertical pair tied to clean flown cover by April 24, 1930 Varick
Street Station, N.Y. machine cancel, flown on the Friedrichshafen to
Lakehurst, both flight cachets and backstamp, very fine and exceptionally
choice.
#C18, 50c Graf Zeppelin, full bottom margin plate
no. 21172 block of six, unusually well centered, bright color, o.g., n.h.,
few separated perforations and tiny stain in the selvage, otherwise
extremely fine.
#C116a, 44c Father Junipero Serra, imperforate,
vertical pair, large margins, o.g., n.h., certificate mentions a tiny
natural gum wrinkle between the stamps which is trivial and unworthy of
mention, very fine; only 19-25 pairs exist according to Datz, and
most of these have gum disturbance or small faults; 1992 PSE certificate.
#E1, 10c Blue, an fabulous quality mint single in
a true "post office" fresh state of preservation, possessing an overall
brilliance few copies of this stamp display, with intense color and a sharp
impression on much brighter paper than usual, plus it is wonderfully well
centered, with remarkably large margins all around, pristine o.g., n.h., an
extremely fine gem for the most demanding collector; 1997 PF certificate;
ex-"Piedmont".
#E2, 10c Blue, an exceedingly fresh mint single,
with deep luxuriant color and a well incised impression on crisp paper,
uncommonly well centered and margined, o.g., n.h., very fine and choice;
2001 PF certificate.
#E4, 10c Blue, the example offered here is one of
the most spectacular mint singles, in terms of its overall condition, we
have ever seen, possessing physical qualities that are rarely seen on this
notoriously difficult stamp, including having a remarkable overall mint
"bloom", with incredibly deep vibrant color and a stunning prooflike
impression on bright white paper, but just as impressive is its marvelous
centering amid extravagantly large margins, pristine o.g., n.h., extremely
fine; a gem example of the most difficult of all special delivery issues to
find in truly premium condition; photocopy of a 1993 PF certificate for a
block of four, this being the bottom left stamp, as well as 1995 and 2004
PF certificates for the single; ex-"Vineyard".
#E5, 10c Blue, an incredibly choice mint single,
exquisitely well centered amid lavishly large margins which are most
uncharacteristic, prooflike color and impression on bright crisp paper,
o.g., lightly hinged, extremely fine; a very scarce and desirable stamp in
this gem condition; the highest grade and the only example yet graded
Superb 98 for hinged or never hinged; 2006 PSE certificate (Superb 98).
