within incredibly wide margins for any stamp of this series, bright fresh
color, o.g., n.h., an extremely fine gem; almost never encountered both
this well centered and margined; 1998 PF certificate and a 2005 PSE
certificate (XF-Superb 95 Jumbo; SMQ $750.00 for 95 and $2,100.00 for
98).

#678, 9c "Nebr." ovpt., mathematically precise
centering within large and perfectly balanced margins, strong and bright
color, o.g., very lightly hinged, extremely fine; 2005 PSE certificate
(Superb 98; SMQ $250.00).
#679, 10c "Nebr." ovpt., an especially choice and
desirable top sheet-margin single, possessing perfect centering within
large margins, brilliant color and a particularly strong impression,
immaculate o.g., n.h., superb gem; photocopy of a 2000 PF certificate for a
block of four, this being the top left stamp, and a 2007 PSE certificate
for the single (Superb 98; SMQ $2,500.00); only one stamp grades higher
(98J).
#679, 10c "Nebr." ovpt., a most impressive mint
example of the key stamp to the "Kans.-Nebr." overprints, being
extraordinarily well centered within considerably larger margins than
usually found, deep vivid color, pristine o.g., n.h., an extremely fine
gem; 2004 PSE certificate (XF-Superb 95; SMQ $1,100.00).
#680, 2c Battle of Fallen Timbers, precisely
centered within large and perfectly balanced margins, deep vibrant color
and a highly detailed impression, pristine o.g., n.h., extremely fine; 2006
PSE certificate (Superb 98; SMQ $220.00).
#684, 1 1/2c Brown, a truly gem mint single, with
mathematically precise centering, sumptuously rich color and a sharp
impression, o.g., n.h., superb; 2006 PSE certificate (Gem 100; SMQ $305.00
for 98, unpriced in this grade); one of two to receive this exalted
grade, the highest to date, the other example was sold in our October
2006 auction for $747.50 (including premium).
#693-94, 696-97, 700-701, 1931 12c-50c Rotary
Press six different selected plate number blocks of four including 12c,
13c, 15c and 17c, plus the 30c and 50c high values, all "post office" fresh
and exceptionally well centered, o.g., n.h., extremely fine.
#696, 15c Gray, gem mint single, flawlessly
centered, marvelously bright and fresh, pristine o.g., n.h., extremely
fine; 2006 PSE certificate (Superb 98; SMQ $520.00); one of only three
never hinged examples to achieve this grade, the highest in the PSE
population report.
#696, 15c Gray, exceptionally well centered, deep
rich color and a strong impression, o.g., n.h., extremely fine; 2007 PSE

single, absolutely perfectly centered amid large margins, brilliant fresh

#703, 2c Yorktown, a magnificent mint example in
the finest attainable quality, being absolutely perfectly centered within
lavishly large margins, gorgeous bright colors, pristine o.g., n.h., a
superb gem; 2006 PSE certificate (Gem 100; SMQ $205.00 for a 98, the
highest grade they price); this is a surprisingly difficult stamp to obtain
in a high grade, as most commemoratives from this era have several examples
graded 98 and often more than one graded 100, this stamp however has only
one example grading 98 and this is the sole example to receive the
exalted grade of Gem 100.
#704, 1/2c Washington Bicentennial, choice
centering, deep intense color, o.g., n.h., extremely fine; 2006 PSE
