#UX2/303, UXC3/16, The exceptionally diverse and valuable balance of the
mint postal card collection assembled by William S. Floyd, an
impressive group of over 100 cards, certainly the most comprehensive we
have ever offered as one lot, the vast majority are mint (the occasional
used card will be found if mint was not available) and all different, at
least 50% of the cards have a catalog value of over $25.00 with many in the
$100.00 to $200.00 range, plus the collection is full of many USPCC
specialized items such as inverts, double impressions, missing color
errors, miscuts, albinos and a range of 1952 surcharge varieties, as well
as other unlisted items; most are found on the original auction lot cards
or retail sales sheets as purchased by Mr. Floyd, with the vast majority
annotated or identified, fresh is the best term for this lot's quality, as
the items were all selected for their cleanliness and appearance; this
collection represents a majority of the major Scott numbers into the 1980's
and has a catalog value well over $4,500.00; certainly a collection for the
specialist or someone wishing to pursue this fascinating area of
collecting; viewing is essential to properly evaluate the depth of this
offering. (not illustrated)
