twelve Ty. VII imprint and plate number strips of three, each with a
different plate number, all but one is a top sheet margin example, includes
plate numbers 1481, 1482, 1483, 1484, 1776 (which is the damaged transfer
variety, with two rounded corners), and of the scarcer 1909 re-issue stamps
there are plate numbers 5240, 5240-09, 5243, 5243-09, 5244, 5245 and
5245-09, all with o.g., most lightly hinged, one strip with a crease and
some separated perforations found throughout, overall fine or better, with
several being very fine. |

Ty. VII imprint and plate no. 5520 block of six, this being the rarest
plate number and position plate block found on this issue, with the plate
no. 5520 being a carryover from the previous perforated 10 issue (#E10) and
was in use for only a very short period of time, each stamp within the
plate block being incredibly well centered and margined, bright color,
o.g., lightly hinged, extremely fine; not even the impressive collection of
plate blocks formed by Dr. J. Paul Wampler contained an example of this

this being the only postal marking on the tag, the two Six Cent stamps
paying the third class printed matter rate for a parcel sent from the
"Harvard Football Program" to Springfield, Mass. via a pneumatic tube
system in place in Boston, very fine; probably one of the most unique

#306, E6, 8c Violet black and 10c Ultramarine special
delivery, both used on a 2c Carmine on white stamped envelope (#U385)
addressed to President Theodore Roosevelt and noted "deliver to
addressee only", stamps tied by Plainfield, N.J. double oval postmarks,
violet "Plainfield, N.J./Jan 10, 1906" double ring c.d.s., because the
letter could not be delivered directly to the addressee, regardless of the
paid Special Delivery service, the cover was returned to the mailing post
office under Circular rules 3856-1/2 and "Circular 3856 1/2 sent/Mailing
P.M. Jan 20, 1906" handstamps were applied in violet, back flap torn in
opening, otherwise very fine.
